Thought you got off easy on winter utility bills?

(Cleveland, OH) -- If you thought your utility bills weren't so bad these cold months, think again. Brutal winter weather is being blamed for an increase in some electric and natural gas bills in northeast Ohio.

FirstEnergy's Ron Green says many customers will soon see a much-higher "catch up" bill to make up for missed meter readings due to bitter cold and heavy snow.

Meantime, Columbia Gas says customers in the budget payment plan will see bills jump $20 a month because of colder-than-normal temperatures and higher gas prices.
