(Cleveland) - Two teenage boys appeared in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court Friday, charged with murder.
17-year-old Marcus Cammon and 16-year-old Deron Grant were arrested by Cleveland Police in the shooting death of 18-year-old Joy Cranfield.
Cranfield was shot twice in the stomach while she was walking near her home on Quincy Avenue at the Carver Park Estates apartments late Thursday afternoon.
Cammon and Grant entered a plea of denial to the charges. Marcus Cammon is charged with murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence. Deron Grant is charged with murder, felonious assault and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
Both teens remain in the custody of the county juvenile detention center.
Cleveland police say Cranfield was hit by two stray bullets when Grant and Cammon started firing shots at rival gang members at East 40th and Quincy Avenue.
At her Carver Park Estates apartment, Joy Cranfield's mother Izetta Bowers said she heard the shots and ran to her daughter.

Bowers said she had planned to move out of the Quincy Avenue neighborhood because of violence in the area.
Joy Cranfield was a former student at Cleveland East Tech High School. She and her twin sister Jasmine stopped attending East Tech last year because they were "jumped" by other girls.
Joy Cranfield planned to take the state proficiency test after attending Greater Heights Academy.
