The Cleveland Browns today were awarded defensive lineman Ernest Owusu off waivers from Minnesota, the club announced. In addition the team made the following roster moves:

Placed on Injured Reserve (2) LB Emmanuel Acho LB Chris Gocong

Placed on Reserve Physically Unable to Perform (1) DL Phil Taylor

Owusu originally signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2012. He was a four-year letterman at the University of California (2008-11) and appeared in 42 games with 18 starts and recorded 55 career tackles, eight sacks and one forced fumble.

 Born on May 26, 1988, the 6-4, 275-pound Owusu is a native of Nashville, Tenn., where he attended Father Ryan High School.
