The Browns have been in the news the past few days for what’s happening off the field as the ownership has officially been turned over to Jimmy Haslam.
This morning Haslam, introduced Joe Banner as the teams CEO. Despite all of that news the team must prepare for their tilt with the Indianapolis Colts. Here are a few notes from today’s football “stuff”
-Trent Richardson was on the field and practicing after he was limited in Sunday’s game with rib cartilage injury. He said after practice that he feels like he will be ready to go come Sunday. He will wear protection over the ribs this week.
-The team also had a healthy group of wide receivers as Mohamed Massaquoi and Travis Benjamin both returned from hamstring injuries. Both were limited.
-The team also had the services of DT Ahtyba Rubin who returned from a calf injury as he was limited as well. Tashaun Gipson who has missed the past 2 weeks was back as well.
-The only two players who did not practice where LB Scott Fujita(neck/shoulder) and CB Dimitri Patterson(ankle) Coach Shurmur would not talk about the possibility of Fujita retiring as some had reported on Monday.
Only saying that he’s trying to battle back like everyone else in the locker room.
-The Browns face the Colts who have a rookie quarterback in Andrew Luck. He and Weeden finished their careers battling in the Fiesta Bowl.
Weeden got to know Luck and is excited to face the number 1 overall pick from this draft but he refuses to get into a battle of trying to out do Luck. He said he just wants a win. And he won’t be checking stats to match him either.
