Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt says the band were faced with a stark choice in confronting Billie Joe Armstrong’s drug issues after his onstage meltdown. “We had to put the life of our friend in front of everything,” Dirnt says. “There were signs of things hitting the fan. We hadn’t slept in for ever. Hindsight is 20/20.” The band have cancelled their appearance at the Voodoo Experience in LA at the end of the month, which was set to be the kicking-off point for their upcoming US tour.
Corey Rotic - Rock Report
Corey Rotic was born and raised in Cleveland, and (if his parents' are to be believed) he's wanted to work at WMMS since the age of 2. His dream came true in 2000, and he's been screwing things up at the Buzzard ever since.
In addition to sucking at radio, Corey's also a musician and plays guitar, bass and sings too (Poorly, at each) most recently in the band Wicked St.
Corey's also a Glam/Hair Metal and Retro-Pop junkie, and keeps you updated on the latest music news every day with the WMMS Rock Report. When he's not pissing people off around the studio, Corey likes to watch crappy-old TV, play crappy old video games, cheer on all the CLE pro teams, drink beer, and hang out with his wife and young son.
And he hates the Beatles.
