The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner says an as-yet unidentified white man in his late eighties died in the early morning fire.
(Rocky River) Fire crews were called to a two-story home on East Asplin Road at 3:45 AM Saturday.
When they arrived, they found the house engulfed in flames.
It took about 45 minutes to extinguish the fire.
An elderly man died in the fire. Lieutenant Steven Vixel says there was no one else inside the home.
The house is a total loss.
The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
