However, no records were broken.
(Cleveland) - It was a cold night in northeast Ohio with temperatures plunging into the single digits.
Meteorologist Martin Thompson of the National Weather Service says the coldest spot in the region was Wooster, where the temperature fell to 2-below.
Thompson says for most communities the low was 6 degrees, including Cleveland, Mansfield, and Elyria/Lorain.
He reports that no records were broken overnight, and that temperatures will be moderating as we go into the weekend. Tonight's Cleveland low is expected to be 19 degrees.
However, Thompson predicts cold air will return late next week.
