Investigators looking into causes of dogs' deaths

(Cleveland) - A disturbing discovery on Cleveland's east side. Three dogs were found dead Tuesday afternoon at East 102nd Street and Meech Avenue.

The dogs were found taped up and stuffed in 50 pound dog food bags.

Investigators with The Cleveland Animal Protective League will try to determine how the dogs died.

The area where the dogs were found is industrial, but neighbors say it is often used as a local dumping ground. The APL is asking anyone who may know what happened to call their Humane Investigations Hotline at 216-377-1630.

Harvey says the dogs were all medium sized, seemed to have been well fed and were in various states of decomposition. One was a brown chow-shepherd mix wearing a reddish collar with silver studs.
