Ramone Clements pleads not guilty to federal charges
(Cleveland) - The man accused of shooting a dog and leaving him in Forest Hills Park in Cleveland Heights is facing federal charges.
Police say 42-year-old Ramone "Raymone" Clements was captured without incident around 11:00 am near Nursery and Finn in Cleveland. Thursday afternoon, he was arraigned in U.S. District Court and pleaded not guilty to a charge of having a firearm and ammunition with a prior conviction.
Clements was fingered as the suspect when someone called Crime Stoppers and identified a man who used to own the dog.
He'll be back in court on January 25.
The mastiff, named Forrest, now lives with a Solon resident after being treated for the gunshot wounds.
