(Cleveland) - Former Cuyahog County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora will serve his prison sentence at a federal facility in West Virginia.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott tells The Plain Dealer that Dimora will be moved soon from a private federal prison in Youngstown to a correctional institution in Glenville, W.Va.

Dimora was sentenced to 28 years in prison for racketeering and other crimes but has denied wrongdoing.

Dimora is among 40 people sentenced to prison after a lengthy federal investigation in Cuyahoga County, which includes Cleveland.

A federal judge had recommended that Dimora serve his sentence at a North Carolina prison. The newspaper said it's not clear why that recommendation wasn't followed.
