Bullet was found in a hallway.
(Medina) - Medina's Claggett Middle School was put in lockdown Monday morning.
In a phone call to parents, Superintendent Randy Stepp says a .22-caliber bullet was found in a hallway. Lockers were searched as well as student backpacks to see if there are any related items. Nothing else was found.
In a statement released to the media, Stepp says students that went to Mohican today were taken off the bus and a thorough search was conducted. Once they were cleared they departed for their Mohican trip.
At this time the individual responsible for this has not been identified. The student(s) who inappropriately brought the bullet to school will face disciplinary consequences based on the findings.
We ask all parents to please have conversations with their children regarding the dangers of bullets, guns and other paraphernalia. It is also important to stress the seriousness of bringing such items to school.
