Pastor Angel Arroyo Jr. says they wanted to begin the healing process and let officers know the community is behind them.
The rally was held at 5pm outside the Second District Police Station on Fulton Road.
Arroyo says they want to let cops know there are citizens that support them in their efforts to keep communities safe.
He's also calling on Clevelanders to do more to prevent crime and violence, so police don't have to be called in the first place.
About one hundred citizens, former and current police officers attended the rally. All said Cleveland law enforcers are getting a bad rap, and that critics should wait and weigh the facts before forming opinions about what happened.
