Weekend festivities end with Sunday fun in downtown Cleveland.
(Cleveland) - Chinese New Year celebrations wrapped up on Asian Town Center at East 38th and Superior Sunday afternoon.
The event is also known as Lunar New Year because so many Asian cultures participate and not just Chinese.
The festivities actually began on Thursday and continued through the weekend, with numerous activities, Asian foods, martial arts demonstrations, dance groups, contests, and music.
Event organizer Lisa Wong says Luna New Year becomes a bigger and better event each year in Cleveland, and has been attracting huge crowds.
People lined up hours in advance to see the Lion Dance on Saturday, and Japanese drummers on Sunday.
Wong reports this year, visitors came from as far away as Akron, and other cities around northeast Ohio.
