Finances, Medical Mart and public safety all on the agenda.

(Cleveland) - Did you know Cuyahoga County has more money in the bank than any other county in Ohio?

That's one item Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald plans to bring up in his State of the County speech today at noon at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel.

FitzGerald gave Newsradio WTAM 1100 a preview of some of the items he'll be discussing. He says county government has become much more efficient since her took over as executive, moving away from the previous three commissioner form of government.

Among FitzGerald's upcoming goals is consolidating the county's 48 911 emergency calls centers. He calls that number "crazy" and inefficient. FitzGerald says the county will help fund consolidating those 48 into four or five call centers over the next decade.

Another topic of discussion today will be the Medical Mart. FitzGerald says he'll be announcing some new national tenants. FitzGerald is so optimistic aboout how successful he thinks the Medical Mart will be that he thinks they'll have to turn away some potential tenants.

FitzGerald says it’s time to build one Cuyahoga County, united towards building a trustworthy county government that strengthens our economy and delivers excellent services with unparalleled efficiency.

"We are at the midpoint of our administration and I am looking forward to giving our community a comprehensive view on where we stand two years after taking office in a newly established form of county government," says FitzGerald.
