They hope to reopen I-90 in Cleveland's Collinwood area by Monday morning.

(Cleveland) - Interstate 90 in the city's Collinwood neighborhood remains closed as crews take apart a damaged pedestrian bridge overhead.

The Ohio Department of Transportation hopes crews working Sunday will allow I-90 to open Monday morning. Crews began Saturday dismantling the unstable walkway over the interstate.

However, many residents doubt the work will be completed in time for the morning rush, and are expecting a huge traffic logjam in their community Monday as commuters take detours through the neighborhood.

They are impressed with all the heavy machinery and work crews on the site.

The interstate remained closed Sunday in both directions, with motorists being rerouted.

No serious injuries were reported Saturday morning when a dump truck with its bed raised hit the bridge. Part of the walkway was ripped away from its base.

Police are investigating why the driver had the dump truck's bed up.

Here is the latest detour information from Cleveland Police:

Eastbound:

I-90 eastbound exit at East 152nd Street to St. Clair Avenue to Babbitt Road where motorists can make a right onto Lakeland Blvd and re-enter I-90 eastbound.

The I-90 westbound remains:

I-90 westbound exit at East 260th Street to Babbitt Road to St. Clair Avenue to East 152nd Street to I-90 westbound.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes such as I-271 and I-480 to get from east to west and vice versa.  Crews still estimate that this closure will last through the weekend.

At 6:30 Saturday morning Cleveland Police, along with fire, EMS and ODOT are currently on scene with a motor vehicle accident which occurred on   I-90 westbound between East 156th Street and East 185th Street.

The preliminary investigation reveals that a dump truck traveling with the trailer raised, struck a pedestrian bridge severely damaging it and causing the trailer to turn over and spill its load of gravel.

The driver of the vehicle associated with this incident is Michael Edwards, age 35. Police say Edwards was driving a vehicle for Big Blue Trucking out of Warren Ohio. investigators report he will be cited for all appropriate traffic violations by the Cleveland Division of Police.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded as well for inspection of the vehicle. ODOT remains on scene to inspect and remove the bridge.

Cleveland Police have deployed officers and traffic controllers to the affected neighborhood streets to help divert traffic and alleviate congestion.
