Two reported incidents of kids being watched as they get off school buses
(Strongsville) -- Police are checking out two reports of kids being watched by a man in a pickup truck, both on the same day.
Strongsville police chief James Kobak tells WTAM 1100 that during the noon hour on Wednesday, kindergarten students getting off a school bus in the area of Fox Hunt Drive told their parents that they saw a man in a black or dark colored pickup truck taking pictures of children.
Later in the afternoon, Kobak says some high school students getting off a bus in the north end of Strongsville saw a man in a dark-colored Chevy S-10 pickup watching children.
Chief Kobak does not believe the incidents are related. He points out the afternoon incident happened near the stretch of Pearl Road where there are a lot of motels, and thus a lot of strangers are seen in the area.
Strongsville police are canvassing the area, looking for pickup trucks matching the descriptions, and also asking if anyone had seen anyone unusual walking around where these incidents happened.
Kobak says he does not believe these incidents have anything to do with the strike by Strongsville teachers.
