Two NE Ohio women killed in Spring Break crash

Happened when they were heading back to OSU from Florida.

(Walton County, FL) - Two northeast Ohio college students on Spring Break died in a car accident over the weekend.

It happened Saturday morning near Erbo, Florida. The driver, Brittney Gallagher of Willoughby, drifted into opposing traffic and crash into a pickup truck.

Both Gallagher and Courtney Miller of Niles were pronounced dead on scene. Two other passengers are hospitalized in critical condition.

The driver of the pickup truck is in serious condition.

The women were returned to Ohio State University from Spring Break in Florida. 

The Walton County (Florida) Sheriff’s Department released the following statement on Facebook:

It's with great sadness that we report a horrific traffic crash yesterday involving spring breakers traveling home and coming to Walton for their Vacation. Our prayers and thoughts go out to their families.

We also want to remind those visiting spring breakers the reason for our zero tolerance is we want to prevent such tragedy. Our tough enforcement will continue.
