Will shut down at the end of September.
(Euclid) – Euclid Square Mall is losing another major tenant.
Dillard’s representatives announced the planned closure of the location. All 36 associates were told they’d be offered employment at other Cleveland area Dillard’s locations.
The store operates as one of the company’s 18 clearance locations, offering deeply discounted merchandise from full line Dillard’s stores in the region.
Following the sale of the remaining inventory, the store is expected to close in late September.
According to a news release, Dillard’s operating history at Euclid Square began in 1988 when it purchased a half interest in The Higbee Company as part of a joint venture with the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation.
In 1992, Dillard’s purchased the remaining interest in the joint venture, and changed the name of the location to Dillard’s.
Dillard’s operates four other stores in the Cleveland area and 15 in the state of Ohio.
